Nostalgic Dinner Dance, Warbirds, Aerial Demonstrations and more return to the Nevada County Airport

Join KVMR at the Nevada County AirFest 2013 as they take to the skies on Friday and Saturday, July 12-13 at the Nevada County Airport.

A Friday evening Big Band Show and Dinner Dance,will be held inside two spacious hangars flanked by World War II airplanes and vintage vehicles. An All-American dinner will include fine wines, beer and soft drinks followed by a patriotic performance by the Moonlight Swing Living-History Big Band. the renown 22-pc 1940s themed re-creation of the Glenn Miller swing era.

On Saturday, scores of rare and exotic airplanes will begin arriving at 8:00 AM to join the many World War Two vintage planes already on hand for the Friday evening hangar party, within view from the traditional pancake breakfast hosted by EAA Chapter #1175.

Locally built kit planes, air racers, antique and classic aircraft, radio-controlled model airplane demonstrations augment World War Two P-51 Mustangs, Hawker Sea Fury, TBM Avenger, T-28s, AT-6s and many other warbirds and planned military fly-bys to make for a full day of aerial demonstrations.  The Patriots Jet Demonstration Team is also scheduled to attend.

Classic auto displays, kids activities, food and retail vendors and an open house at the joint U.S.F.S / CalFire Grass Valley Air Attack Base will round out a full day of activities.
