I was born in Mt. Shastav CA and grew up in Dunsmuir. I came to Nevada County in 1977 as a Deputy Sheriff in Truckee. I moved to Grass Valley in 1993 and soon after discovered KVMR.

Music has been an important part of my life. We did not have television in our house until I was 13 so we read, played board and card games and listened to radio for entertainment when we couldn't be outside! I started playing music in school band in 5th grade and played in school bands through college. I picked up the guitar during the folk music scene in the late 60s and played in rock bands and for Folk Masses through college.

I took a Radio Workshop at College of the Siskiyous where we performed radio dramas and simulated broadcasts of the home basketball games. There was no campus radio station so the Workshops were part of the Drama Department. It was lots of fun and gave me an appreciation for how difficult calling a sporting event is!

My next adventure in radio land came during my Senior year at Chico State College where I hosted Valley Concerts, two hours of classical music on KCHO, beaming out a whole 10 or 15 watts to the campus community.

Fast forward to 2004 when I took the Broadcaster Training class and became certified as a KVMR broadcaster. I substituted many shows my first year, mostly Red Eye Radio and 4-7 AM. In April 2005 Conant Road went on the air to take you off the Interstate and onto the backroads to reconnect with the old and explore the new. Rock, Americana, Blues, Bluegrass and Country can all be found on Conant Road. Conant Road is now in it's third year on KVMR
