Barbara Jicha is a fan of KVMR, recognizing it as one of the many jewels of the Sierra foothills. She has enjoyed living in Auburn for the past twenty five years and never tires of exploring the Sierras and the foothills by foot, kayak and bicycle.
She was raised in southern California and moved north to attend the University of California at Davis where she had a great time earning a bachelor's degree in consumer textiles. After a harsh confrontation with the real world, she returned to school at the California State University, Sacramento where she earned a Master of Science degree in Accounting and Taxation. She began her career in accounting with Price Waterhouse, Sacramento and was certified by the State of California as a public accountant in 1984.
Barbara formed her own accounting firm in 1991 and presently specializes in providing accounting and audit services to a wide variety of not for profit organizations in addition to providing income tax services to individuals, corporations, estates, trusts as well as not for profit organizations.
Her community activities include service on the Auburn Corp Salvation Army Advisory Board for the past twenty years. She is a founding committee member of the Auburn Community Festival and served on the City of Auburn arts Commission for several years.
