Having completed the 2011 Broadcaster Training Class, and being certified in Jan. of 2012, I am a new broadcaster. I had several great mentors along the way...To each one, thank-you for your time, patience and sharing your knowledge and thoughts on broadcasting at KVMR. Without you, I couldn't have done it!
Over the past 35 years, I've been asked, more than once, "Do you work in radio or TV?", and my answer was "Unfortunately no, but I'd love to do it someday". People always said I should, because of my voice. Well now, KVMR has given me the opportunity to follow through on something that has always been a dream of mine, so THANKS to KVMR!
While my primary interests are Blues, Jazz, Folk, and Classic Rock, there's also Country, Bluegrass, and even some Classical. Basically, I try not to limit my tastes as there is so much great music out there. On my shows, you'll generally hear the first 3, but I'm definitely not averse to playing other genres that make an impression on me and that I feel my listeners will like. Since I've started broadcasting, I've found that I listen to music differently than before, and I'm much more aware of my role in the journey that my listeners take as they listen to the tracks that I put on the air.
