Graduating by the skin of his teeth from both UC Davis and the KVMR Broadcaster Training Class in the futuristic-sounding year of 2000-with a Bachelors degree in both Communication and Political Science from one of the two institutions and an overblown sense of purpose from the other- "t.e. wolfe" went on to conquer both the late-night "red-eye-radio" world and the grueling graveyard shift of his local Chevron Foodmart, much to the dismay of friends and family. Having only recently completed a four-year stint on the City Council of his hometown-Colfax, CA-he was in no shape to take on anything more controversial than his television remote, and decided that life in the daylight hours was over-rated. Eventually he emerged from this emotional paralysis and has been doing better ever since, thanks for asking.
Soon after convincing the far more respectable Jenessa Peterson to vacate her position as host of the Radio Poets Society (in order to pursue an "education," ostensibly), "t.e." wrested control of the fan-favorite poetry show from the embattled legions of would-be hosts and began his arduous journey toward Total Domination of KVMR's airwaves. Granted, he has not exactly achieved this goal as of this writing and in fact isn't even hosting the poetry show anymore, thanks to losing a particularly violent round of "ro-sham-bo" to current host Roo Cantada.
He has, however, managed to con his way into hosting the storytime-for-grownups show "A Word In Edgewise" every other Sunday from 8pm to 9pm, alternating with Roo and the Society. That's right -- 8 to 9 on Sunday evenings is Literary Excursion Hour every week; sometimes it's poetry sometimes it's prose, but it's always something unexpected and occasionally scandalous. Lewis Carroll, Mark Twain, Neil Gaiman, Kurt Vonnegut... these are but a few of the folks whose work have and will grace the airwaves via "t. e." and KVMR, always interwoven with music and sound effects and whatever else the spirit moves, for an hour of original and unparalleled entertainment, sort of a "Circle 'Round" on steroids.
Fans of the late-night cacaphony formerly known as "A Word In Edgewise" [was alternating Friday nights /Saturday mornings, midnight to 4am] can rest assured that "t. e." has not entirely abandoned them, however. Yes, he did take the name of the show with him to this new, somewhat more respectable time-slot, but the psychonautical pyromancy of mixing and madness that constituted his late-night meanderings is not gone: "t. e." will continue sweetly abusing late-night weekend listeners in his inimitable style on a somewhat less frequent basis, as part of the "Night Vision" family of broadcasters, under the tragically permissive direction of Executive Producers Martha Kuhns and Joel Brumgardt, bless their trusting souls.
The chaotically meticulous and comfortingly caustic musings of this twisted chameleon can be found in the new-fangled "blogosphere" that all the kids are talking about these days, over at the cesspool of social misdirection called "myspace.com". Under the nom d'cyber "Rev. Reacharound" KVMR's black sheep champion extolls the virtues of paranoia and the vices of unfettered joy. If you think this "profile" is odd (and somewhat irritating) just wait til you read THAT stuff. Thank you for your attention; please go about your business and forget you ever read this.
