See Jane Do is a social change multimedia production that captures the stories of everyday women doing extraordinary things for the planet.
In November 2008, See Jane Do received a grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and nationally acclaimed community radio station KVMR based in Nevada City, CA to produce a series of one-hour radio magazine programs to be aired monthly. Click to read more...
The See Jane Do radio program is hosted and produced by co-founder Elisa Parker and has featured interviews with Gloria Steinem, Joan Blades of Momsrising and Moveon, founders of BlogHer, Chef Ann Cooper, Marie Wilson of the White House Project, Goldman Environmental Winner Marie Gunnoe, among others.
In addition to our radio show we publish a bi-weekly newspaper column "Extraordinary Jane" about everyday women who are putting their passion into action to have a positive impact on her community and/or the planet.
See Jane Do also presents the annual Passion Into Action Women's Conference, which has featured renowned speakers such as Bioneers co-founder and president Nina Simons, best-selling author and women's activists Gloria Feldt and former US Ambassador Linda Tarr-Whelan.

On this special edition of See Jane Do for the KVMR membership drive, Elisa Parker interviews best selling author and Peace Leadership Award recipient, Riane Eisler. As the co-founder of the Center for Partnership Studies Dr. Eisler discusses strategies to implement an economic shift and cultural transformation that places value on the most important asset, people.
Riane Eisler is internationally known for her bestseller The Chalice and The Blade: Our History, Our Future. Dr. Eisler is a social scientist, attorney, and author whose work on cultural transformation has inspired both scholars and social activists. Her research has impacted many fields, including history, economics, psychology, sociology, and education. She has been a leader in the movement for peace, sustainability, and economic equity, and her pioneering work in human rights has expanded the focus of international organizations to include the rights of women and children.

Having traveled throughout fifty countries, climbing mountains and being the first woman to cross Alaska solo on skis, Reinette is no stranger to risk taking adventures. Goldman Environmental Prize Winners and Activists

Maria Gunnoe The Goldman Environmental Prize is the largest award in the world to recognize grassroots environmental activists. The 2009 recipients were celebrated at the San Francisco War Memorial Opera House with over 3,300 guests. Considering that four of the seven winners were women, See Jane Do had to be there to hear their stories. Goldman Prize winner, Maria Gunnoe who has fought against mountain top removal to extract coal in her back yard in order to protect the Appalachian Mountains and the health of her children shares her story.

Food: The Neglected Relationship


Anya Fernald On the next episode of See Jane Do On we hurry up and slow down with Slow Food Nation director Anya Fernald. Anya Fernald began her career in food working in rural development in southeastern Sicily developing cooperatives for artisan cheesemakers. She then spent four years working for Slow Food International in Italy, directing the Terra Madre 2004 Event Program for North America, and later working as the Program Director for the Slow Food Foundation.
Ann Cooper We discover a school lunch that kids line up for with renegade lunch lady Chef Ann Cooper. At The Ross School in East Hampton, NY, Chef Ann served as the executive chef and director of wellness and nutrition, developing an integrated school lunch curriculum centered on regional, organic, seasonal and sustainable meals. The implementation of her pilot wellness program proved successful, and Chef Ann was invited to work with schools across the country.
