Billy Bensing and Kellie Bradley on Nevada City Limits, Fri., Feb. 1, 2008 |
Billy and Kellie are local musicians living here in neighboring Grass Valley, California. On Friday, February 1, 2008, they appeared on Nevada City Limits with Dennis Brunnenmeyer. While Billy has been crafting songs and later singing and playing the guitar to accompany them for many years, Kellie is beginning to perform in public with Billy for the first time. Starting as Billy's guitar student, both quickly realized that they had something in common-the ability to combine two talents into something bigger than either one alone. All of the songs in this Studio 401 presentation were written by Billy. Dennis' favorite is the first one, titled "Banana Peel."
Keep your ears open for more of Billy and Kellie singing and playing together, for here's a music career in the making. Hopefully they'll release a CD together soon. You can visit Billy's web site here: http://www.billybensing.com

Andrew McKnight On Nevada City Limits, Nov. 9, 2007 |
On Friday, November 9th, 2007, the studios of KVMR-FM radio were graced with the presence of none other than Falling Mountain Music recording artist Andrew McKnight. Visiting the area from the beautiful Shenandoah Valley at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Commonwealth of Virginia, Andrew proved what Dennis already knew: He is a complete folk artist in every sense of the word--a poet, a song writer, a storyteller and a fine guitar player with a beautiful, soulful voice. Louis Valentine Johnson visits Nevada City Limits |
Louis Valentine Johnson, a well-known and widely-acclaimed classical guitarist currently living in Grass Valley, California joined Dennis on Nevada City Limits on Friday, April 27th, 2007. Though his music is classical in the sense that the guitar and the playing style are considered classical, the compositions that Louis played on this program are in fact folk compositions in the truest sense of the words.
Listening to Louis play these compositions confirms what I already knew: He is a world-class artist with a reputation to support it. Click here to visit Louis Valentine Johnson's web site.
